SpeediWifi started out life as BMG50 Wireless Internet. In 2005 BMG50 grew larger than it's owner intended, so it was sold to David and Eric who created SpeediWifi. Later the network was sold to Craig and Sean who are now the current owners.
The purpose of SpeediWiFi is to provide broadband internet access to areas where it does not exist or is expensive to obtain. Our clients fees pay for system expansion and improvement on a Co-Op basis.
SpeediWifi now services two locations, Silver Springs and Stagecoach. It didn't take long for SpeediWifi to grow as there is a real need for high speed internet access in these areas.
Keeping prices low and affordable is key to our success. Our system is based on a pay-as-you-go model. You can buy months of time and not worry about late fees or monthly bills. Our system is a shared network. You will have access to all of the available bandwidth but it is shared with all active users. Bandwidth shaping assures that all users get access and equally share available bandwidth. Customers using P2P file sharing and Bit Torrent are banned as they interfere with other users of the system. Our continuing goal is to keep speeds as high as possible.
If there is many users doing a lot of activity on the network, or if there is just one user running applications that use more than their fair share, then the network will run slower than normal. When the user or users are finished with their current downloads, the network will return to normal.
Depending on what location you're in, you could get up to 4.5Mbps (Multiple T1 lines). When normal load goes beyond our current limits, we upgrade our lines to support more usage. As the customers base grows, so does the bandwidth.
